A healthier nurse may mean a healthier patient. Please join us for an inspiring course especially for nurses that will help you integrate healthy habits into your home and professional life. Our program will focus on techniques to improve healthy eating and increase physical activity in order to reduce and prevent obesity.

Our program will focus on techniques to improve healthy eating and increase physical activity in order to reduce and prevent obesity.


Objectives:

1)Discuss the purpose of wellness programs and the impact these programs have on nurses and their patients.
2)Identify behavioral changes that will improve personal wellness.


Author:

Holly Carpenter, BSN, RN, is Senior Staff Specialist for the American Nurses Association’s Center for Occupational and Environmental Health. Ms. Carpenter has worked for the Maryland Hospitals for a Healthy Environment and received training by the International Chemical Workers Union Council as a First Receiver and as a Train-the-Trainer for Hospital-Based First Receivers. A popular continuing education presenter on environmental health issues, she is also an accomplished author in The Maryland Nurse, The American Nurse and the American Nurse Today.
