Improving Hospital Quality in a Challenging Economic Climate
Pictures say a thousand words, and in their provocative video and presentation, Lilee Gelinas and Charles Peck challenge us to keep patients safe and improve quality, even in today's economic climate.
This presentation was delivered as a featured session at the NDNQI 2010 conference.

Lilee Gelinas, MSN, RN, FAAN, is currently Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for VHA Inc. She has 34 years of experience in healthcare including five years in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps. Working at VHA since 1986, she has helped create strategies that impact leadership, culture, healthcare quality and safety.
Charles Peck, MBA, is a Manager in VHA's Clinical Improvement Services/Performance Analytics Team. He is responsible for implementing strategic initiatives as well as providing tactical direction, project management, and subject matter expertise for VHA clinical initiatives. His experience in healthcare includes positions as a staff Nurse and Quality Registrar at Parkland Health and Hospital Systems and as a Quality Analyst for Texas Health Choice. In addition to his Vocational Nursing diploma from El Centro College, he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas – School of Allied Health and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Dallas.
