Navigating Patient Engagement: Nursing's Priority
While nurses are a critical component in ensuring that patients and families are informed decision-makers, fostering successful engagement goes beyond information sharing. Nurses are positioned to do what it takes to make it easy for patients to engage in all aspects of their care. This webinar highlights strategies for enhancing the contributions of nurses to foster successful engagement.
Purpose/Goal: The purpose of this webinar is to provide nurses strategies for fostering successful engagement of patients and families in their care.

Shoshanna Sofaer, DrPH serves as the Robert P. Luciano Professor of Health Care Policy in the School of Public Affairs at Baruch College. Dr. Sofaer has been working to make the health care system comprehensible and useable by patients since 1985 through multiple research projects that often involve the development and use of interventions, training, and technical assistance. She authored a white paper from the Nursing Alliance for Quality Care on patient engagement.
Nancy Rothman, EdD, RN is a Consultant for the PHMC Nursing Network and the Independence Foundation Professor of Urban Community Nursing in the Department of Nursing at Temple University. She has 50 years experience in public/community health nursing service, education and research.
