APRN: Pharmacological Management of Migraine Headaches

Overview:
For APRN to manage migraine therapy successfully, they need to understand trigger patterns, headache, and patient goals, and be able to counsel patients appropriately about their condition to offer the most effective treatment.
Purpose/Goal: To provide the APRN with information about the causes and pharmacologic treatment of migraine headaches.
Objectives:
1. Discuss the causes and diagnosis of migraine headaches.
2. Identify treatment strategies for decreasing the severity of migraines.
3. Use medication strategies to prevent migraine headaches.
